These are my latest watercolours which are based on sketches from London street scenes. This is my first experiment into abstract images and all of them have been painted with many thin layers of paint and a 3” brush. I have used this technique before but not with this many layers. Some of the paintings have had about 30 layers. I work on a few pictures at once, taking each one and painting one thin colour. After this I leave them all to dry naturally and return the next day to proceed with the next colour. Quite quickly each one takes on its own identity and needs a different colour to the others.
